The Corinne True Center for Bahá’í History

I was excited to learn of the establishment of the Corinne True Center for Bahá’í History as an agency of our National Spiritual Assembly. I was even more excited to read the recently released statement from that organization titled “The Importance of Studying History, Theology, and World Religions.” It’s a “must read” for anyone already interested in Bahá’í history and, I believe, for anyone not yet convinced of the importance of preserving and studying that history. It especially speaks to the approach to Bahá’í history our Project team has taken, using personal stories told in many voices. I’ll add the link below.

On a personal note, I was moved to read, in the last paragraphs of the statement, about the value and relevance of studying the beliefs and sacred writings of other religions, to enrich our understanding of our spiritual heritage and progressive revelation, as well as of our own scriptures and teachings. Our little local teaching team hosts a monthly zoom devotional that explores various spiritual qualities or principles as presented in different faith traditions and I can attest to how exciting and enriching it is to research, share, and discuss these concepts in that context. If anyone is interested in checking out those gatherings, please comment below or email the Project and I’ll send you an invitation.

Please take a few minutes to read the statement! I hope it will inspire you to share your stories, to register as a user on the website, to comment on content already in place, and to visit often to be informed and inspired by the events, individual initiatives, and creative service that has led us to where we are today.

In every Dispensation, the light of Divine Guidance has been focused upon one central theme.… In this wondrous Revelation… the foundation of the Faith of God, and the distinguishing feature of His Law, is the consciousness of the oneness of mankind. — ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, cited in The Promised Day is Come
