Early Baha’is of Iowa
The First Local Spiritual Assembly of the Bahai’s of Warren County, Iowa, was formed in March of 1970.
The members of that Assembly were, front row, left to right: Catrina Rawlins, Dane Shafter, Thomas Stober, and Pamela Stober. The members in the back row, left to right, were Roxanne Cheney, Roger Cheney, Archie Rawlins, Charles Schiefelbein, and Margery Smith.
A Recognition Ceremony for that Assembly was held on July 14. It was attended by thirty seven people, including representatives of the Local Spiritual Assembly of Chicago Heights, Illinois, some 365 miles away. Warren County is one of the first rural Assemblies formed in Iowa.
