Vision for Humanity Conference, May 13-15, 2022 by Bryce Abel and Diane Findlay
Submitted January 2024
Over the course of 2022 and beyond, a wave of thousands of conferences focused on sharing Baha’u’llah’s vision for humanity spread all over the world. The conferences were planned at local, regional, national, and international levels and open to all with an interest in fostering unity and service as collaborators in community-building efforts for the betterment of the world. The conferences took many forms and emphasized a variety of specific themes appropriate to their localities and circumstances. They involved activities for all ages. Many incorporated the arts in creative ways. Happening a couple of years into the Covid pandemic, they responded to the need for protecting the health of participants in various ways, including offering videoconferencing options where advisable. Two films were commissioned by the Universal House of Justice as resources. One, EXEMPLAR, focused on the life of ‘Abdu’l-Baha. The other, GLIMPSES OF A HUNDRED YEARS OF ENDEAVOUR, looked back at the previous century of efforts by the Baha’i community to contribute to the emergence of a world organized around the principle of the oneness of humanity.
Iowa’s Vision for Humanity Conference took place May 13-15, 2022 at Pilgrim Heights Conference and Retreat Center in Montour, Iowa. These are the printed program and session guides for the Iowa Conference.
