Program from Baha’i Centenary Convention, 1944
From the Des Moines Baha’i Archives, entered December 2025
This program, from the Thirty-Sixth Annual Convention of the Baha’is of the United States and Canada, honors the centenary of the founding of the Faith with the Declaration of the Bab in 1844, and shows Iowa’s delegate as Mrs. Lindsley Atkins. the accompanying note from Edie Elmore, who served as Iowa’s delegate to the National Convention for many years, indicates that “Cay” (Catherine Andreasen?) sent it to Edie in 1980.
Transcription (as best I can decipher):
Dear Cay, Thank you so much for sharing the Conv. Program from 1944. Isn’t it fascinating?!!? Next year do remember to take it, at least, do a report. I’m sure everyone would be as fascinated as I was. I wrote a brief article called “From the Past” from this & sent it to DTC Editors!!! So watch for it. I said, just use it as a filler whenever needed. Thanks for sharing this! 🙂 Hope next time I write our address will be in Bettendorf but the house selling market is still pretty bad– Love, Edie
