Governor Robert Ray Declares World Peace Day, 1976

This Executive Proclamation was prompted by a request from Iowa Bahá’ís, perhaps the Des Moines LSA, and acknowledges that “the Bahá’ís of the State of Iowa are joining in the national observance of World Peace Day:” The Des Moines Archives include certificates from similar proclamations from 1962, 1963, 1964, 1965, 1966, 1967, and 1968, all signed by then Governor Harold E. Hughes, and for 1970, 1972, 1973, 1974, and 1977, signed by Governor Robert D. Ray.
