He was born December 11, 1949, son of Marvin and Jane Brody Sires. He graduated from Waterloo Wet High School in 1967. After serving in the military during Vietnam he attended Southern _____ University. He then attended Iowa State University doing course work on a PhD in microbiology in cancer cell research. He then transferred to Nebraska State University where he continued his research.
Survivors include a daughter, _____ Sires of Waterloo, four brothers, Thomas (?) of Omaha, Nebraska, William of Waterloo, Donald (?) of Newberg, Oregon, and Phil (Claudia) Irvine of Waterloo.
Preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Sires.
Graveside services: 3 PM Friday at Elmwood Cemetery. Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball (?) is assisting with arrangements. Memorials may be directed to the Salvation Army
