Peace Doves Children’s Class by Diane Findlay

Back row: Diane Findlay, Angela, Debbie Knoll. Front row: Bobby, Jordan, Katy, Laura

For six years, from roughly 2008-2014, the (self-named) Peace Doves Children’s class met alternate Sundays in a classroom at the Findlay home, while their parents and other adults studied Ruhi books upstairs. Classes focused on virtues, stories, and the history of the Faith. Each class began with a sharing of “kind things,” during which every child told about one kind thing they did for someone since our last meeting, and one kind thing someone else did for them. What a joy it was to spend time with these young people and to watch them grow, physically and spiritually!

When these kids “aged out,” we had a second group that met for a few years, including Hayden; Konor, Kayden, Payton, and Dallas; and Ronan. Wish I had a picture of that group! Also a joy.

"In every Dispensation, the light of Divine Guidance has been focused upon one central theme.… In this wondrous Revelation… the foundation of the Faith of God, and the distinguishing feature of His Law, is the consciousness of the oneness of mankind."

— ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, cited in The Promised Day is Come
